5 Questions We Get about Lawn Care Prices & Cost in Cincinnati, Dayton, OH, & Northern Kentucky

As a wise lawn care consumer, you want to feel confident that you’re making the best financial decisions for your lawn. That’s why you’re making an effort to better understand lawn care costs.

We get a lot of different questions about lawn care prices and cost when homeowners call us inquiring about our service. To help give you some of the answers you’re looking for, we’ve rounded up 5 of the most common questions in this article.Lawn care technician spraying lawn

1. Why are Your Lawn Care Prices Different from this Other Company I’m Looking at?

One of the lawn care cost questions that we commonly get is why our prices are different from another company’s prices. This usually comes up when someone has called around to a lot of different places and is “price shopping.”

We’ve already written an article that goes into detail explaining what factors impact lawn care cost. You can read that article for all of the specifics. But just to sum it up, it’s important to remember that not all lawn care companies are created equally. There’s often this misconception that all lawn care companies are performing the same services or using the same products and this simply isn’t the case.

2. Is There a Way to Make Your Lawn Care Pricing Cheaper?

Another question that we sometimes get about our lawn care pricing is whether there’s a way to shave any cost off. This might sometimes come in conjunction with the question above as a homeowner wants us to try and match another company’s price. But as we’ve mentioned, there’s a reason why lawn care costs what it does—and why some companies might be cheaper. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.

The truth is, there is a certain level of quality that we strive for and we’re not willing to compromise on that for the sake of a lower price. We’re simply not like the companies that charge less but ultimately offer you lesser quality.

On this same note, if you’re getting a much less expensive price, you may need to ask yourself why. A lot of lawn care companies participate in lawn care sales gimmicks, including the “bait and switch” game. This is when a lawn care company ropes in new customers with free services. They give these to you free for the first year but automatically charge for them in future years.

Many companies offer promotions and other seemingly less expensive prices to get you in the door but then they nickel and dime you once you’re a customer. It doesn’t take long to realize that the seemingly cheap lawn care package you were sold on doesn’t include everything your lawn needs. Now that you’re adding those other services in, your lawn care cost may be more expensive than the other company you were considering (which offered all of those services from the start).

At Oasis Turf & Tree, we don’t do any of that.

We have three lawn care programs that we know will work with exactly what’s included in them. We aren’t willing to remove any of the services just to make the cost cheaper because we know it will compromise your quality and your results.Lawn care technician applying granular fertilizer

3. Can You Offer Your Services A La Carte?

As we’ve mentioned, we offer our services as a full lawn care program, complete with everything that your lawn needs to perform its best.

But sometimes homeowners will ask us if we can break those services out into a la carte pricing. This comes from working with other lawn care companies who might make their lawn care cost appear cheaper by offering their services at individual pricing. But this is a problematic model.

For one, a la carte pricing puts it on you, the consumer, to know what your lawn needs. Instead of having all of the services you require in a lawn care package, you have to pick and choose. But you’re not an agronomist and you’ve likely turned to a lawn care professional because you don’t know everything that your lawn needs.

Lawn care companies who offer all of their services individually (as opposed to packaged) also often end up playing the “blame game.” If your lawn isn’t performing well, the lawn care company can put the blame on you saying that you didn’t choose all the services that you needed.

The truth is, you don’t just hire a lawn care company to treat your weeds or fertilize your lawn—you hire them to take away your worries. That means finding a lawn care company that offers complete lawn care programs with everything you need.Lush green lawn being maintained by Oasis

4. Can I Skip a Visit to Lower My Lawn Care Price?

Sometimes homeowners ask about skipping a visit to lower their lawn care cost but this is another area where we will not compromise. There are a certain number of lawn care visits built into our lawn care programs for a reason.

What’s important to realize about a lawn care program is that it’s made up of different services that have an optimal timeline as to when they must be completed. When you skip a visit, you end up skipping services that your lawn needs within that exact timing. We’re simply not willing to sacrifice your quality or your results by skipping any visits.

5. If I Choose the Diamond Package Now, Can I Scale Back Later?

Finally, you might also be wondering if you choose a certain level package, such as our highest level (Diamond Lawn Care), if you can change it later. We always explain that it all has to do with expectations and what you’re looking to get out of your lawn.

If your lawn is in really bad shape and needs a total transformation, you’re likely coming in at our Diamond level. After all, lawn aeration and overseeding are two of the best things that you can do for your lawn. The best defense against weeds is a thick, healthy turf.

If you ultimately decide that you’ve achieved a lawn that is thick, healthy, and green, you might be thinking about scaling back. While it’s best for your lawn to aerate every year, if you do scale back and skip a year, you at least know that our lawn care programs include everything else your lawn needs to continue to perform well. Of course, it might mean that your lawn isn’t quite as thick, green, or healthy if you skip a year. It really does boil down to expectations.

Once homeowners have achieved the results they’ve been looking for, they are worth continuing to invest in keeping it looking that way. It’s important to remember that lawn care must be maintained on an ongoing basis. It’s not the type of thing where you can do all of this work to achieve results and then it will be self-sustaining. It will still need ongoing care to continue to perform at that optimal level.

Choosing a Company with Transparent Lawn Care Pricing

At the end of the day, a lot of homeowners tell us they appreciate our transparency when it comes to lawn care costs. Not only do we spell out what you’ll be paying but we don’t play sales gimmick games like the “bait and switch” or offering all individually priced services. We are honest and transparent and you can count on us to tell you exactly what your lawn needs.

This is important because as we’ve mentioned, most homeowners don’t hire us to just apply fertilizer or perform weed control.

They hire us to take away their worries.

And that’s exactly what we do. By working with Oasis Turf & Tree, you can gain peace of mind that your lawn care is in good hands and you’re paying for exactly what your lawn needs to perform its best.
